Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 What are folks using these days? Ime wanting to plan a route with pin points ideally on a pc friendly app then to use on the phone in the car. Route needs to be shareable as well Thanks 🙂 Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Hi Marcus I use Google Maps, once you have mapped it out you can just send it to your phone 1 Quote
Stuart Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 MyRoute is brilliant but you have to be very careful to get waypoints bang on. Get one on a slip road or the opposite carriageway and it will keep trying to take you back. Easy to get them right though as you can zoom right in 1 Quote
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 @Tom Frankland (T3OMF) I've looked at google maps it looks like its limited to 9 waypoints 😐 @Stuart myroute looks very good I've D/L the app on my phone and used the website on my PC to create a route which by the looks of things can be exported into various formats which is good. The app itself will not navigate the route unless you subscribe - how have you used the routes? Quote
Stuart Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator yes I made a 550 mile circuit of Wales for my Garmin with it in 2021 and it worked superbly apart from my one errant waypoint. I've used it to create a few more local routes as well. And I heard about it from the guy who uses it for the local MX5 club drives. I've borrowed a few of those and they've worked great. Edited to add that I haven't used the routes on my phone just on my Garmin Nuvi. I think.... 1 Quote
