Help broke down

I had a similar issue during a track day after the car was hot, I jump started the car and after that it was fine but I  never really got to the bottom of what happened. Completely dead when I turned the key but I had ignition light. I hope you find what was wrong, it’s a bit of a worry when it fixes itself but you have not changed anything or diagnosed the issue.

The problem was a poor earth connection on the steering rack mount. I had recently had the neg battery cable off when I fitted the battery isolator switch. I had used the car since then with no issues. But today when I measured across the neg batt lead terminal and the main chassis earth stud I was getting a really high resistance reading. I removed the terminal and remade the connection and it’s all good now. So fingers crossed that’s all it was and it caught me out when it did (not far from home!)

I'm blushing. I don't know everything, i just happened to be in front of my PC when I saw Ben's post for help. I've got over 30 years industrial electronics experience, so I'm usually handy with electrical fault finding. I've had great support from the members in this club and I enjoy giving back.
