predawson Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Guys. I'm about to pick up my recon pinto engine for an SDV. A shallow sump is an expensive optional extra. Is it necessary. If yes, then where can one be sourced cheaply? Quote
Stevo Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 I think that if you were really careful you can get away with it. But as the stock sump sits about six inches from the ground it wouldn't take much to ground it. An RS2000 sump will fit nicely and you can pick one up from ebay or Yukspeed will shorten and paint your existing one for about £60. Quote
Blatman Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 But as the stock sump sits about six inches from the ground it wouldn't take much to ground it. Six inches? I don't know of *any* Westfield with that much clearance under the sump.......... Quote
Sparky Pups Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 I believe the *norm* for a westfield would be a tad over 4" or 10cm for you young 'uns Quote
Blatman Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Both mine have a fair bit less than 4" clearance........ Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Both mine have a fair bit less than 4" clearance........ Leave it Eve'nin Mr B Quote
Enterpryse Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 I'd put one on TBH while the engine is out and its easier. Stuart Quote
