Factoryheads Cafe, Donington - 10am 28th August 2023

The weather looks good tomorrow so a few of us are heading to the Factoryheads Cafe at Donington (Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2RP) at 10am for breakfast.

 

After we've refuelled on some saturated fat and caffeine we will head for the circuit to watch the Motorbike Track Day.

What an amazing group we have, less than 24hrs notice and we have a dozen cars out to play!

 

Four of us met up in Swadvegas for a little convoy up the B-Roads.

 

 

Despite the Factoryheads Cafe saying they were now open on Bank Holidays, we arrived to find them closed 🤦‍♂️

 

10 cars had landed in the car park, so we were discussing breakfast options when a new face arrived.... Tim had recently moved to the Loughborough area and had decided to come on his first WSCC meet! Tim's car is a stunning Northampton Motorsport tuned, dry sumped 220+bhp Duratec engined car so plenty quick enough to keep up with the pack. Of course we had to have a drool over it... spot the lovely Nitrons too 😍

 

 

We then headed for the circuit proper to indulge in the delights of Garage 39 (the cafe at Donington Park). 2 minutes away we passed Gary in the MEV who turned around and joined us.

 

 

 

After a buttie we watched the bikes from the Melbourne Loop for a while before heading for the infield to admire the lines through the Craners and the Old Hairpin (picking up some tips for Wednesday when a few of us are on track 😂).

 

A few of us had to head home for lunch, so the rest if us decided to head for the Mercia Marina for drink.

 

 

 

Great to see you all guys, a brilliant way to kill 6 hours of the Bank Holiday!
