Outdoor car cover recommendations

Need some personal recommendations for an outdoor car cover to fit my Seiw with full cage.

As much as I don't want to store it outdoors, I need to do some jobs on my Defender which will no be residing temporarily In the garage.

Even though its only a short term plan, I still want the best protection possible.

my initial searches keep coming up with the following:

https://www.stormcarcovers.co.uk/collections/stormforce-car-covers/products/stormforce-car-covers-for-westfield?variant=977157204

https://www.classicadditions.com/en-GB/outdoor-car-covers/ultimate-outdoor-car-cover/prod_10077

I would rather have something which is more fitted/appropriate size as opposed to a generic cover which will have excess material flapping about.

Anyone with personal experience of either or another brand?

Hi glen , have had both covers , wasn’t impressed with the storm car cover as it caused severe micro blistering and ended up with a spray job , have had my classic additions cover and used it now for a couple of years both indoors and out in extreme weather , great anchor points but would be better suited to and seiw with rollcage as it’s a little saggy around the roof area , when I purchased mine I was at the time in the process of getting a cage fitted but it still hasn’t happened , cover is currently on my other westy which  is an se but still covers and holds down tight , maybe I was just unlucky but for me the classic additions works well for me

That's interesting then.

I certainly don't want issues with my bodywork after only just having had a full respray.

I have the Classic Additions super soft stretchy indoor cover and it does seem extremely well made.

Yes , have that too on the seiw in the garage , that was bought at the same time and still looks like new , both purchased at the silverstone classic three years ago and both very durable

I'm at Silverstone classic this year.

May wait for another couple of weeks, incase there is a deal then.

I've been buying covers from Specialised Covers for many years and can recommend them. (Though I don't have one for the Westie as that's kept indoors with a baggy/generic cover over it). Not the cheapest, but great quality.

I’ve used Classic Additions and Specialised Covers in the past for previous cars. Both were great tbh & from memory Classic Additions were slightly cheaper.

Which size did you get for the Westy if I can ask?

Just picked this thread up from a forum search for covers.  I'm looking for something robust, like those pram hood style garages but on amazon they're the price of a real garage (over 1k!!  really??) .. I'm after something with a sturdy frame to keep the cover off the car itself .. like a long narrow gazebo with sides ..   Is anyone using anything like that? The previous owner of my car kept it in stunning condition, i don't want to be the owner who ruins it  :)

For that kind of money, might as well get an outdoor carcoon. Check eBay and FB Marketplace as you can sometimes pick them up secondhand.  My Westie used to live in one and probably will go back in it in a couple of weeks. (Wife's car that has been living in a Carcoon is away having a re-spray and so may be hijacking the garage on its return)

Unzip, move the top out of the way enough to drive out, then zip up and re-inflate. This is the easiest way to avoid having to store the cover. If you're paranoid about it blowing away, put a couple of heavy items in when the car is out - wheely bins are good here....
