Dommo Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 Has anyone got any advice in pointing me in the right direction for a rover v8 engine? Buying the engine before the kit is probably not the most normal of methods, but does give me the incentive and plenty of time to rebuild it! Looked on ebay, seems to be a few on there... are they common in scrapyards? Also want another one to put in the Land Rover, going to buy some shares in shell... Quote
S8ight Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 for how cheap you can get a full engine from the likes of RPI wouldnt bother re building one again. i bought a 3.9 g'teed 50,000 miles and it still needed a full bottom end re build and also had a cockeyed liner been told this can be quite common on them. Dommo Posted March 5, 2004 Author Posted March 5, 2004 does the rpi engine count as new or refurbished come registration? Quote
S8ight Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 its defiend as 're manufactured' so it would count. although they do have brand new engines in from time to time. Quote
