Hello from Glossop

Hello all from nr. Glossop (on the Western edge of the Peak District),

I feel extremely fortunate to this week realise a dream of 20+ years and finally step in to my own lightweight, having on Wednesday taken ownership of a car that may be familiar to the WSCC; It has a club keyring on each set of keys!

I am completely new to performance car ownership so taking it steady but the former 2 owners have been extremely kind with their time and patient with my initial questions. Thanks Graham & Ian, should you read this.

I've a lot of learning to do but am excited to have started this journey and will no doubt be actively bothering the forums soon rather than continuing my previous ~10 years of lurking.

Cheers,

Barry

Hi Barry,

Welcome to the club. I hope you are going to bring your lovely looking car to show to us at the next Peak District meet, we are full of advice on Westfield ownership but be warned, you may end up with a shopping list 😁

We are on holiday at the moment and the next Peak District meet is on Bank Holiday Sunday, the 28th May at the Whitworth Centre, near Matlock, DE4 2EQ at 10am, please check in the events section before travelling just in case we get forecast any torrential rain and it gets changed.

Look forward to meeting you and your car

Julie

Welcome to the club.

You're not too far from Yorkshire either, we have a breakfast meeting this Sunday if you fancy a run over.

Thank you for the warm welcome and particularly

@Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative & @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO for the invitations out. As glorious a driving weekend as this is, family responsbilities are front and centre at the moment. I have managed to at least get out and verify that the shift lights seem to be in working order.

A couple of technical issues seem to have reared their heads, so I'll be posting pleas for help and advice in the relevant areas of the forum soon enough, as well as for some advice on other things.
