  • 2 weeks later...

Just 8 days to go. Many thanks for all those who've contributed to this great cause so far, but please don't let this stop any others contributing to a very worth cause!

Not the rest day, I'd wanted/needed, but it was my daughter's Duke of Edinburgh Gold presentation day, so I couldn't exactly skip that!

I'm resting them today! It's looking warm tomorrow, so I'm glad the 1/2 starts at 8:30am. Some of my colleagues are running at 12 for the 10K!, with Mo Farah, (not to be confused with @Paul Aspden (MoFast) ) 😉 One's incredibly talented and eats bacon butties, the other does a bit of running and eats veggie sausages!

Fair play to your Daughter. My eldest done her Bronze weekend hike a fee weeks ago.

Regarding you colleagues, a mate of mine who drinks silly amounts of lager and eats junk food started running in 2017 and does these 'ultra' type of events.

The weekend before last he done 100miles in 23hr 20mins and then the following week he done his local park run before he came with me to the Westfield open day....

Some are bred differently 🤨.

Weather is looking good though👍

My youngest has just done her Bronze, so hopefully she'd get to Gold too.

Yep I run to earn for my food and beer 😉 No point having a light car, otherwise!

I'd much prefer cold and wet to be honest! Heat's a killer, especially in a city environment!

Some of us met at our office in Didsbury and took the Tram into town- It was getting warm at 7:15am!

Here's us ready to run. The start line is shown in red! It took circa 5 mins to cross the start from the gun going, off though my time is based on chip time.

It was a busy and hot run- Though I'm happy with my time, position was for a field of circa 8000, runners for the 1/2. I did 1H 37M in 2019 and finished 358th then.

I'll take this position for my age and gender-

Here's me with some of my colleagues from the 1/2.

sir Mo, only ran 1/2 the distance we did ! Clearly proof that vegan sausages aren't good for you 😉
