Thanks Scott. If I see it again, I’ll screen-shot it. I thought I was (not) seeing things at first but tried two different platforms just in case. That, and the content, led to my belief if had been hidden.

A thought - there was a minor forum software update going on yesterday (you might have seen the banner notice).  If it was happening while you were posting or had just posted, it might have got caught up during the process.  It’s happened before.

(On a separate note, when the Moderation Team does moderate something by hiding it, it’s procedure to notify the poster as to why it’s happened.  Generally speaking, 99.9% of moderated (hidden) posts are outside spam.  Any posts that are by known members that might be considered contentious are almost always discussed backstage before any action to hide is taken.  It’s extremely rare that a post is hidden first before discussion - it has to be something blatantly and clearly offensive, damaging or libellous.)

I do get it though and I’ve been there.  You type something and then later it’s not there and you’re going…

As long as a “political” post didn’t breach any of the forum rules, I can’t see any reason for it ever being moderated, whether it was popular/unpopular, far right, far left etc.

Its your view and you’re entitled to it and to explain it, as far as I’m personally concerned, whether I agree with the view or not.

It’s that old (fashioned) concept for me; I might not agree with what you’re saying, but I’ll fight tooth and nail for you have the freedom to say it.

This does not apply one iota, to ANY post I’ve ever read of yours, Chris, but… for others, that’s not to say that if a post strongly appeared to be trolling/fishing and trying to provoke others , without itself clearly crossing the line, it wouldn’t have the whole mod team watching closely! Though it would perhaps be more likely to see a thread locked than posts hidden.

Thank you chaps. Assurances received, and accepted with gratitude.  I've edited my post to note this fact but have left it otherwise intact.

My reaction very much matched that GIF Scott posted. I did look more than once to make sure....and there it was(n't) until after Stuart had posted.

From the OP's Heading I thought this thread was a discussion about Football

You clearly know nothing about me then!  :)
