Would you open it?

A friend in the States, who has as many prankster friends as I do, got this in the post - bearing in mind that it’s legal to post bees there - and here - would you open it?

As an ex-beekeeper, collecting drones, male bees, no sting but loud buzz and letting them out in houses, offices etc was always a good way to create a panic....

In the end, the box didn’t contain bees but it did have a dictaphone with a recording of bees buzzing, connected to a inertia switch so that when you did shake it, it would make the buzzing noise. 😂

I should have thought that if there was a bee colony in the box, then the box would feel slightly warm, and there would be a gentle humming sound?

I'd have opened the box outside, but I certainly wouldn't have risked shaking the box first!😄

How would live bees breath without some kind of venting ? none to be seen there ( no pun intended )

They'd breathe (yes that's the correct spelling PB) the same way they would if they weren't in a box...

Ironically, you can only post bees by surface - you cannot airmail bees.
