I was having problems with stitching vinyl for my half hood conversion on my sewing machine because the vinyl was too sticky. After a bit of YouTubing, I bought myself a Teflon foot which seems to work very well indeed.

@fatblokestu A couple of other things that will help (consistent thread tension) is your needle needs changing (it's blunt), and running the thread through the guide above the needle. As the thread goes through the material it needs to run vertical down the flute in the needle to allow to the optimal loop to form at the scarf, allowing the hook to pass through the loop without issues. 😉

Thanks Brad. Actually the needle snapped last night so has just been changed which is a lucky coincidence! Thanks also for the threading advice, I’ll get that sorted 👍. I’m learning all the time.

What the postie brought today - my new kit bag!

Been using random bags to carry gloves and stuff in the cabin and was thinking of getting something just for the car, saw this in the form shop and couldn’t resist…

Another new bag!  A nice bit of kit - I was very happy until Mrs B. decided it was an ideal birthday present and whisked it away...😢

@Flying Carrot Steve Just click your menu button (top right), then the WSCC area and browse to your delight!

Is the bag big enough to take a crash helmet and detachable steering wheel Steve?

Posted

Hi @Flying Carrot Steve - it definitely takes my helmet ok, with about 20cm length left spare. I can't comment on a detachable steering wheel though. The advertised 58cm x 30cm x 30cm dimensions are pretty accurate.
