New clutch cable:

Here's a question: Why do clutch cables have seemingly random bits of blue tube over them?

Yes if they are made for a certain make and model they will have protection on places like where it may go through the bulkhead or other areas where it may chafe or need cable tying to secure it. 

 

I had them on mine when I had to replace the clutch cable on an old Cosworth Fisher Fury
