How're you dealing with the side buttons being unreachable?

I know you can program the unit to use external buttons for the same functions, but it seems like a waste to me...

For the moment I'm just going to reach behind the dash if needed. I don't know yet how much I'll actually need to use them... I might do an updated version with button access, or external connection as you mentioned.

I do love a full cage. Wouldn't be without mine tbh. Apart from the obvious pluses, they make a westie look soooo darned sexy 😂

Yes, but getting in and out .. my first Westfield was with cage, second road - without , wow! how easy get in and out without bending bones ;)

But yes, looks great, feels and _is_ safer ( i think everybody saw that :

Just wish that our cages had some additional side bars like those in MNR:

Mine has side bars. Slightly different shape but same principle. That one does look quite different though. It looks like part of the cage side bar is hidden maybe?

Can You share pictures of Your side bars ? Is IT welded or bolted to cage?

Only side bar in Westfield I saw was in those Westfield Cup racing  cars on drivers side (left) like in this video. But thought it is part of regulations for  Cup car specification there in NL (westfieldcup.nl) for racing side to side .

In MNR this side bar is bolted not welded .

Ah, yes, I was thinking of sth more protruding to the side.

Yes I've seen the type you mean, not on a Westfield though, usually it'll be an MK or some other 7. Probably makes getting in and out a bit more tricky for guys my size I'd say.

I think protruding side bars aren't allowed by FIA. MK does offer both FIA and non-FIA rollcages, and the FIA one is very similar to the Westfield one with the side bars close to the body, while the non-FIA one have them protruding quite a lot.

The old Westfield did produce additional side bars for the Netherlands race Series and you could buy both sides in the old shop.
