I don’t understand a lot of it but find it very interesting even though I don’t post anything. Please do carry on.

Really enjoying it, but can’t add much help with the Rover either, I’m afraid, or Jaguar transmissions and diff’s! :)

I can say despite my normal thoughts of fuel injection (aftermarket) being they way forward on all things kit, having followed Andrews V8 Westfield on lots of Peak District runs now, the sound of a good Rover V8 with a proper big American multi barrel carb is a thing to send shivers down any petrol heads spine, so great to see a traditional manifold going on!

No doubt more on here may be able to help once you’re into body and trim stages where the knowledge might be a bit more transferable?

Keep it coming Gary, it's a great read. I am so looking forward to the final result!

Chuck in some Blyton special content and you've got it made!

I know exactly how you feel Gary, but as above, I'm interested in what's happening but usually can't add anything to the thread, so just tend to have a read :t-up:

I avidly read updates of your builds, and Chris's Midlana, as someone who will never undertake one.

Don’t fret Gary, I’ve felt just the same at times, but then I realise that not everything I post really warrants a response, but folk are interested.

FWIW, I look at every post on every build thread, both to see how folk are getting on, and in the hope I can find another brilliant idea to shamelessly appropriate.  :)

the first kit build I started was a V8 Cobra copy so much of what you are doing is familiar and it’s always good to see how someone else approaches it.

JKP.......just keep posting

(I’ve not posted anything myself for a while as the old back is playing up, so next to nothing has been done)

ETA. Re the carb/manifold, have you measured the angle it’ll sit at with the engine in place yet? I had to put a wedge plate on mine to level up the carb. I also spent a good while messing with float level adjustment (which is a PITA on a Holley!) to reduce a problem I had with it surging on very hard braking.

Most definitely not. I certainly don’t always post a comment but love reading yours and others build diaries. A valuable source of information for reference.

No your not wasting your time posting the build and updates

your into different realms than most of us are used to, yes there are some general areas where the same procedures and problem solving can be applied, but the mechanics are different

i really enjoy your updates so please carry on

Please keep the your build thread going Gary, I find it fascinating. Apart from the odd stupid question, because I'm unobservant or slow on the uptake, I feel I can contribute little! Having "cheated" and built a kit supplied complete by WF, I stand in awe of all you guys building something different, where you've got to make it up, sorry design and fabricate as you progress.

Personally, I follow all the build threads, and enjoy them. We have a good variety of intriguing "out of the ordinary" build threads currently, long may it continue.

Ditto! I love the variety we’ve had recently, from a complete scratch build, to beautiful Jaguar replica, your Cobra, let alone the wide variety of Westfields. (Really hoping one day someone will have a go at a GT40 rep, ah well, I can live in hope!)

Oh no Dave, if my Jaguar sells I have GT40 or another C type (but with improvements) or a Lamborghini  Miura on my list. So now you’ve put pressure on my decision. :bangshead:

Gary keep posting I went through same thoughts building/posting mine but there is definitely interest from Westfield family :t-up:
