Asus UX425J laptop repair

Does anyone know of any good resources/companies that I could attempt to contact to try and source the small cable that connects the screen to the main board on my wife's laptop?

The screen was flickering on and off when opening and closing the screen and I've pin pointed it to a fracture in the cable.

I believe I've possibly found a replacement but it's in China and I would rather use a UK company.

Cheers

  • Glen_I changed the title to Asus UX425J laptop repair

We seem to be very efficient at killing laptops in our house so we have used a local repair shop a few times and I can recommend them. You get to speak with real people and they treat you fairly and respectfully, it might be worth giving them a call.

They are :-

aGeek, West Bars, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Good luck

Thanks Julie.

I've emailed a couple of companies so I will try them tomorrow!

This laptop is like triggers broom....the pet rabbits have chewed through the charger lead, the screen has been replaced after it cracked (Covid related home tutoring incident involving a stressed wife and daughter) and the battery was replaced under warranty.

I replaced the screen just over a year ago after the 'incident' so the cable could be down to me not routing it correctly???

I've found one on eBay for £27 delivered (from China) which is bonkers as the replacement screen was only £50.

It's still to good to write off yet.

Thanks for that.

In the end I ordered one I found on eBay which is on its way from China???

I contacted several places and the answer was always 'sorry, but nope, can't get it?'

Well, I have to say that I ordered the cable on the 24th Nov via Ebay from China and it arrived today.

All fitted and a working laptop again!

Whilst I wanted to find a local repair specialist to assist me no one could offer any assistance.
