Curborough Breakfast Meet - Saturday 8th October

Rob Hunter - Club Secretary

Recommended Posts

Well, the weather is looking promising this weekend so some of us are going to the final Curborough Breakfast Meet (Netherstowe Lane, WS13 8EJ) of the year on Saturday morning.

Usual free entry, the cafe will be open and the HSA are doing a Sprint so hopefully track action will be good and the paddock will be full of interesting motors.

We are getting there about 930 and normally stay for a couple of hours, feel free to come along if you can 👍

Steve and I met up early doors in Swadlincote to convoy down the brilliant B Roads we have locally to meet the rest of the gang.

It was quite a busy meet so no formation parking today 😂

Tony had also come along in his daily and we were then joined by @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO and Sue for breakfast along with Michael (a mutual friend who runs Burton Car Club and owns a stunning 288GTO replica).

Suitably refuelled we headed for the paddock to have a look at the exotic sprint and hillclimb machinery.

As always at the Curburgring, the car park is as interesting as the paddock....

Sadly the track will soon be tucked up for the winter so it will probably be Spring 2023 before we are back.

Great to see you all today, hope you got home safely 👍

Would have liked to come down for this, looks a nice day there, but had a flu jab booking for mid morning at the GP's so that sort of wrecked that plan!

It's a great place for a meet, free entry, plenty of parking cheap food and always get some stunning cars to watch 👍

Used to go a lot, you should see my collection of the Curby mugs they sell at the Breakfast meet! Not been since pre-lockdown, though, I must confess. Must go again, next year, when they re-start.

Was a gorgeous day for being out. This was my fav of the day. Looked fairly nippy on track I thought.
