neilwillis Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 Can we have some photo's of you getting in with the hood up Neil?? Wasn't ever going to go there Dave! Have you ever attempted it? Perhaps we should have a limbo contest at Curborough! Quote
Jay m A Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I've had the misfortune to drive a Peugeot 607, the most detatched driving experience ever With the underpowered diesel engine, it deprecited faster than it went Quote
Ian Podmore Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 1980 Austin Metro 1.0 My first car that was truly frightening at anything over 80mph Once it got there..... My disappointing drive (not owned) - Subaru WRX STI - dull as a dull thing round corners, Metro was more fun even though you got overtaken my snails. Quote
steppenwolf Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Steppenwolfess was rammed in the rear ( nice ) at a roundabout the other day and she now has a courtesy car - A Red Vauxhall Agilla. This is the most unsuitable car that she or I have ever driven. I know it is a Vauxhall and we have to make allowances for that ( ) but this is the poorest excuse for a car that I have ever had the misfortune to have been a passenger in. Steppenwolfess hates it, I hate it, even Postman Pat would hate it! Quote
adhawkins Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Agilla For some reason, my brain saw that as 'Anglia'. 'Odd choice for a courtesy car' I thought My dad had one in the early 70s. I think there was more filler in it than metal by the time he changed it. Only new car he ever owned though, think it cost about 500 quid Andy Quote
neilwillis Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 That reminds me of a courtesy car I was given for a week once when my trusty Volvo estate was getting unbent. I had a Citroen, can't remember what it was called, but it was a little hatchback thingy. The brakes were none existant! I've got a heavy right foot (yes, really! but it was as much as I could do to get it to stop. It would never have got through an MoT test. Scared the life out of me! Quote
Pinto Boy Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Volvo 360 GLT - 2l fuel injected engine, no PAS. Not very good when you're just learning to drive, your mum's sitting beside you and the only other car you've driven is a dual control diesel Fiesta. Gave her a bit of a fright when I got the pedals wrong. Bought a 1.0 Nova soon after that to learn in. Was a passanger in a courtesy Corsa with the semi-auto sequential box. It had full auto mode or you could move the gear stick forward and back to change gear. Took an absolute age to change though, they'd managed to take the worst of a auto and combine it with the worst of a sequential. The was a courtesy for a VX220 - bit of a climb down. Quote
Paul M Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Years ago when I was selling cars I had the misfortune to have to move a Lada Riva 1500 from the pitch, this was the deluxe model with all the extras, ie, nothing, and steering that would have made an East german shot putter wince, truly the most appaling shed I have ever driven. oldman Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Well mines the convertible model, thats what makes the difference, you can feel the wind in yer face ....just Quote
David Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Worst car, Ford Focus a very basic model, on loan while my 306 Cabrio was rebuilt after someone drove into the back of me! The Ford was 2 months old i had it for a month in which time most of the moving parts broke or fell off. I was glad to see the back of it. Quote
S8ight Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 just thought, im brave to admit this one, but i once drove a plastic pig Quote
felters Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Just realised how old I am. The worst car I've driven is a Daimler. No, not a tarted up Jag; a real Daimler. I was a '52 saloon with a 6 cylinder engine and a pre-selector box. My mates dad bought it, and it was awful. At the time it cost more than the equivalent 4.5 litre Bentley - even more scary is that my chum still has it! The worst car I've ever owned was a '74 911 2.7 Lux. I had quite a few 911's and they've been really great cars. This one was complete sh1te. "Blood" Orange and with a downgraded engine that was engineered in a panic to meet new US emission laws. If you see one for sale - walk on by... Quote

Monkeylegend Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Don't know why I just owned up to that. Must be the medication I'm on. Quote
