AndyC_772 Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 I had mum's old Fiat Panda for longer than I care to admit - 900cc's of pure clockwork. I still remember doing about 20mph up a hill, five-up and with my foot flat on the floor! Thankfully it eventually rusted away to nothing, so although it remained tediously reliable I finally had an excuse to ditch it. More recently I was given a Daihatsu Terios as a courtesy car while the scooby was in for repair. Quite what I did to deserve this treatment I don't know, but despite the awful weather and the fact that it doesn't have a hood, I drove my Westy for the rest of the week, leaving the top-heavy, gutless, nasty little machine sitting embarrassingly on the drive. Fat Albert Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Truth be told, my best/worst experience was at age 20 when my then car trader brother sold me an Alfasud, brilliant boxer engine, slick gearbox and fantastic handling... The only problem with it, which eventually become intolerable, was the inadequate heater... After a while the heater couldn't keep up with the ever larger oxidation holes in the body Quote
oioi Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I bet most of you dont know what a renault 16 looked like i learnt to drive in renault 14 bald tyres, leaking sunroof etc etc most unsuitable car - westfield for daily commuting during the winter Quote

oioi Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Wimp!!!!! getting in and out and putting the layers on to ensure work clothes remained clean etc was the problem. work wasnt that far at the time and the car was never getting a good run up to temp, and with wipers and lights on the battery was getting flattened. i did it for 6 months and wimped out Quote
studbuckle Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Can't say i've ever owned an unsuitable car.... BUT When I was commuting from Bolton to Sheffield every day one winter I had a loan car of a 1litre Fiesta with no radio. Needless to say after 2 weeks, it was a bit dead Quote

And all without the sauna attachment AKA a hood. Quote
