Feel free to join us 👍
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary
Tony, Gary, Glynn, Ash (in his van as he working locally), Nigel (of course in the Aston) and myself braved the autumnal temperatures for a trip to the Curburgring. Glynn, Tony and I were sensible and wrapped up well. Gary quickly regretted wearing shorts in his MEV 😂 I'd got there early and had been watching the Aston Martins doing their practice laps when this beast took to the track! Amazingly, I happened to be stood next to one of the guys that built the car! Apparently the car was registered in 1948 and started life as a hillclimb car through the 1950's before being put in someones garage, only seeing the light of day now and again for a trip to the local pub.... they recently bought the car in a sorry state and have adapted it to circuit racing and sprints. The old 6.25 litre V8 certainly makes all the right noises! 😍 Once everyone arrived we had our traditional cholesterol breakfast (Glynn with a full English on a triple decker sandwich!) and had a wander round the paddock... all served up with loads of friendly banter! As always at Curborough, there were some lovely cars either on track or in the car park 4
