Hi All i am looking for some help and advise ref purchasing a Westfield. I have decided its time to call it a day on two wheels and this seems the way forward. Probably the best bet is to meet up and chat at a meet.  If its  at all possible even to sit in one as obviously size is a factor ☺️. I am 6’ and 14stone  do i need a wide body? Do i need the floor lowered? What motor to look for. Many thanks Rob

I'm in Hampshire but there'll be others closer to you... I'm 6 foot 4 but am a skinny git at only 12 stone. How you fit depends on if your height is in your legs or in your back.

Either way you can adjust stuff to make the car fit you. My seats are fixed, but my wife who is about 5 foot 8 can drive by using a cushion behind her.

I'm another one who has replaced bikes with a westfield. It's an understandable move... they're bl**** good fun. You do have to be prepared to do a bit of spannering.

Hi!

Not too long ago I asked to sit in a car, too.

I am 6ft 4 with a lot of length in my legs. Some cars I have tried fit me, others no chance.

Biggest difference seems to be a top mounted pedal box, rather than floor hinged.

The floors on mine aren't lowered, but it is a widebody.

I'm in North Devon, by Bideford.

Happy to meet and chat.

Jens

Welcome, don’t know where you are based but there will hopefully be a number of Westfields at the Dorset Area Monthly meet Thursday 1st September at The Crown Inn Bridport DT6 4AX from 19.30.

Hi that’s interesting. My measurements if it helps ☺️ 32” leg or 3’6”” to my waste and have size 11 feet 😮 I know I could ski with them.

Ok, I'm longer in the leg than you. I'm comfortable in my wide body westy. I do need to fit a taller roll bar at some point as my head is above the current one. And I can see over the top of the windscreen if I stretch.... roof still fits over me though. Not that I've ever used it.

Hi!

Well, most 36" inside leg length trousers fit me only just. My feet are size 14 UK. It does fit.

If there's a will, there's a way 🙂

Shame I won’t be there on Thursday as I have a narrow bodied SEi, I’m in Crewkerne. The car is actually up in Bershire currently but I should get it down within September. I’m just shy of 6’ and 19 stone (hence the name! 😱😂) and I do just about fit in but remove the seat and sit on the floor to give myself enough legroom. Obviously a lot depends on build and leg length.

There are sentimental reasons why I own my car, and I won’t change it but a wide body would make a lot more sense for me. The positive thing is it is a great incentive to lose weight! 😜

@Rob Waldron I’ll be down the Crown Inn for the Dorset meet on Thursday with mine, its a wide body with lowered floors and floor mounted pedals. Happy for you to have a sit in it. If you can’t make it down I can pop across one night as I’m only in Ilminster 👍🏼

@Rob Waldron There is a possibility I might not bring the car tonight due to the weather unfortunately, if it stays dry I will bring it but I don’t like taking it out in the rain. If I don’t bring it tonight I can pop down to Honiton tomorrow evening or over the weekend if that’s ok 👍🏼 (Weather permitting)

@Rob Waldron My car is somewhat trapped in the garage due to domestic oil tank replacement work, plus the weather looks questionable so think I will be taking the tin top tonight. You would obviously be welcome to join us, not sure how many Westfields might be there though.

As Matt above, could arrange to come to Honiton when weather permits.
