Posting IN for Sale threads.

Please can I remind everyone using the for-sale section, to take a read of the "rules", here, before either starting an advert, or responding in someone else's.

In particular, when going to post on an existing advert, stop, make sure you've read this:

and consider what you're about to post.

As above, a certain amount of "helpful" to the seller drift will be permitted, as it keeps the advert active, and up the list.

But please ensure any such posts are respectful, and not the starting point for debate!

Posts that are considered not in the spirit of the original adverts will be removed by the moderation team.

However, if an advert raises a question for you, or you wish to discuss, generally, something about an item for sale. Then you absolutely can start a thread in the relevant forum section, Tech Talk for technical queries, the Start Line for more general queries/discussions.

If you have a question regarding the price of something in an advert, it is better to discuss directly with the owner of the item for sale, via PM, where possible.

Please treat each other, and the adverts with respect and courtesy, and remember, it may be you with something to sell one day!

I'm following the sale of the first Midlana on Bring a Trailer at the moment (a US auction site). It's a prime example of what happens when rules like this don't exist and a sale is open to comments from all & sundry. Frankly, it's an utter ****-show!!  It's like having an actual auction held in a football stadium with 20,000 randoms shouting abuse and talking trash about the items for sale, none of whom have any interest whatsoever in ever buying anything.
