When I try to open the forum on my phone it is asking where I want to download a file called "download" to 😞

Only started late afternoonish.

I edited the link on my menu to https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/ (it didn't have the https:// before) and it works properly now.

I noticed this morning that clicking the forum shortcut on my iPad resulted in a dialog box asking me if I wanted to "download the forum"

On my PC, clicking my saved bookmark downloaded a small file.

Clearly, somebody has changed something, somewhere.

I've deleted the old bookmarks and replaced them with new ones, but it's a bit of a faff

I do wonder if someone has hijacked the non https address, but I don't know enough about web sites to say with more certainty.

If you do get the the download screen, it would be best not to download anything, just close the screen and use the https link.

  • Onliest Smeg David changed the title to Forum issue? - Use https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/

@Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster - Not sure if you've seen this?

I'm getting it as well on the http version, but I've just had a look at the script and it looks like genuine Invision Community code so I think it's a host error resolving it as a download rather than a malicious hack. Always good to be vigilant though.

Shouldn’t http:// always redirect to https:// anyway?

Yes, but Virtualmin/Webmin isn't doing what it says it should...  If you've got an idea, please let me know

Check the .htaccess file in the root public folder.

or httpd.conf

or sites-enabled/ xxx.conf

I was also going to suggest that if PHP has recently been updated it might not be reflected as a valid handler/module for Apache?

My long standing bookmark seems to have been saved to the http version but it hasn't shown this behaviour until recently.

I spotted this this morning and am investigating. Redirect page to forum appears to have been broke.
