Help put a smile on an owners face! - Sunday 12th June, Balsall Common

Hi all,

 

There us an impromtu charity meet being organised in Balsall Common at the Railway Inn Pub (547 Station Rd, Balsall Common, Coventry CV7 7EF) on Sunday at 12 noon.

 

It has been organised to hopefully put a smile on the face of a Westfield owner (Nik Wadsworth) who has sadly being diagnosed with cancer in recent months and is not currently well enough for chemo.

 

Some of you in the Midlands area may know Nik (he owns a green Megablade), he's a lovely guy and personally made me very welcome when I was starting out in my own Westfield journey. He is also a proper petrolhead, having spent many years helping with Andy Frost's Red Victor dragster team (Red Victor 3 held the world record for the fastest road legal quarter mile) and we want to show him some support at this difficult time.

 

Andy Frost will be there to sign T shirts etc (some may remember him from Top Gear with Red Victor many years ago) and at least one top dragster will be there (Mental Breakdown, a 1700bhp VW Bus!).

 

Please feel free to come along even if you don't know Nik, I know he will really appreciate seeing you and your cars.

 

A few of us will be travelling down from the Derby/Notts/Burton area, so I will arrange a little convoy over the next day or so.

Hi all,

 

We are doing a little convoy down to this event on Sunday morning.

 

We will be meeting at the KFC at Ashby Services (LE65 1JP) at about 1030am leaving at 1045am.

 

A second stop will be made on Merevale Lane (the layby outsite the St Mary Church) near Atherstone (CV9 2LA) leaving there about 1115am.

Fantastic turnout today for Nik, really quite heart warming!

 

John, Alex, Tim, Colin, Ben and I met up at Ashby.

 

 

Then met Dale and Hedley at Atherstone for an eight car convoy (including a tintop).

 

 

Getting to the pub, we met another 4 Westfields plus assorted American V8's, dragsters and classics.

Thanks everyone for coming, we did what we hoped to do and put a big grin on the face of a fellow Westfield enthusiast at a very tough time 👍
