Pete75 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 (edited) Hi guys, a friend asked me to start a search for a widebody chassis, Zetec version in excellent condition. Anyone? BR, Peter Edited May 29, 2022 by Pete75 frame replaced through chassis ;-)
Mark (smokey mow) Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 To help with your search ZK refers to a style of bodywork not the chassis. The widebody chassis frames are the same regardless of whether you choose to fit ZK bodywork or FW bodywork. likewise the chassis were designed to accommodate several different engine options, typically only the engine mounts would be different but these just bolt in. the major differences to be aware of are live axle rear suspension vs independent rear and the different gearbox tunnel widths. The narrowest gearbox tunnel is typically referred to as the type9 and as you’ve guessed was designed for the Ford type9 gearbox, these were typically on early cars. The wider MT75 tunnel will take the Ford MT75 gearboxes and various others. There are also other variations for V8’s and Honda S2000 etc but all should be suitable for a Zetec install. 1

Lake Constance is in Germany, Austria and Switzerland 😉 In AT and GER it's easy to find parts for Caterham but hard to find parts for Westfield.
