Stu Faulkner
I have decided not to continue with the AJ30 engine swap so its for sale. What I have is and what it cost me so far:- AJ 30 3.0 engine from a 2002 S type jag with 90k on the clock (No documentation to prove this) The engine has had covers and sump removed and all looks good inside. Bearing end caps removed and again all good. Compression test performed, albeit on a cold engine and all six cylinders were the same. Test can be performed again with the potential buyer if required Cost me £600.00 Rocketeer parts:- Sump with baffles and modified pick up - £576.00 Water pump bracket £18.00 Engine to gearbox adapter plate £462.00 Flywheel £510.00 Oil spigot adapter £24.00 Other items Oil filter £9.00 Spark plugs £30.00 ST200 throttle body purchased and then machined from 60mm to 65mm £230.00 Alternator adjuster and belt £40.00 Davis craig 115 pump with controller and hose £125.00 ST220 lower manifold - £50.00 New starter motor £62 Denso type alternator £75.00 ST200 manifold extensively modified £150.00 Exhaust manifolds For ST200 not ideal but a good starting point £187.00 This has all cost £3148.00 plus gaskets, paint and other consumables so I am probably £3300.00 into this project. So what I would like is £2200.00 Which is basically the rocketeer parts and the engine and all the other goodies and labour are being thrown in. I may split depending on the offer. This project needs to finish:- Wiring, Emerald make an ecu with loom to wire you own or they will make one for you. Engine mounts need fabricating but the plates have been fitted to the engine. Finish off the exhaust weather you want single or twin exit. There are a few of these conversions done now and there is lots of expertise on this forum to assist.
Steve (sdh2903)
Funny was only thinking the other day how this was going. Sorry to hear your not progressing it, if someone takes this on for a westy then you really won't be disappointed, brilliant engine choice for a 7 type. Have you advertised on any mx5 sites for any potential rocketeer builders?
