TAFKARM Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 4 speed Quaife dogbox  Race ratios 1st 2.040 2nd 1.540 3rd 1.210 4th 1.000  Ratios match well to a high power car revving to 8ish. I worked out for my car top of 4th was about 125, which is perfect for most of the UK trackdays I was doing. Its next best thing to a sequential, super strong and a chunk lighter than a type 9. And who doesnt love clutchless changes? Bought from a previous WSCC, new baby means I haven't had time to get it fitted and car will be for sale soon. £1100, collect or WSCC courier.Â
LoneWolf Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Maybe a stupid question but... This hasn't got a reverse gear, right?
LoneWolf Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 How noisy is it in terms of whine? Is it unbearable to be used on the road?

Ear plugs at least, are sensible.  But for road use, a dog box can be, ahem, interesting! (There’s no synchromesh on any of the gears). These type of boxes are fantastically quick gear shifting on track, where you don’t need the clutch. Â
LoneWolf Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 I'm keeping going back to this sale thread It has the perfect gearing for what I'm looking for my engine, and I really want to try the dogbox experience 😄 I'm a bit scared by the whine tho... @Vote Simon for Chairman can you pack it for shipping? Do you have any knowledge of its conditions?

jimbobtcc206 Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 I used to drive with a dog box in a road car and I loved it. On track it was brilliant. Loved the whine and the bangs when it selected gears. I guess each to their own but I think the noise of them is bearable.
