Kingster
FYI, I am pretty sure that there’s two kinds, early ones that will only accept push in shafts and later ones that will take lobro shafts.

Exige man
I have the early type independent rear suspension with drum brakes can I just change the uprights? I've recently fitted a lsd with uprated sierra drive shaft
Kingster
You’ll need hubs too. The hubs will need to match the driveshafts. The early sierra uprights use push in shafts with a Sierra diff and Sierra hubs. The later ones use lobro driveshafts and have hubs that match the bolt on shafts - not sure what they are off as not got them on my car 😁 If you just want disc brakes, you can get adapter plates that bolt on to your hub bearing carriers. Kingster
Here’s the sdv upright and hub with adapter - just as an example to show how the adapter plates fit here’s the push in Sierra shafts for comparison to yours
Kingster
If you get disc uprights, you need these hubs for push in shafts
wizzer
Hi Allan 5mm laser cut brackets and spacer Golf caliper just needs a bit of jiggery pokery to make the hand brake work. Definitely the cheapest option. Tony

Kingster
Your drum brake hubs will need machining to fit under the discs by the way - from memory it’s 134mm dia? Need to confirm that!
Exige man
OK thank you I've been over to work on the car tonight I think the issue is I've brought the wrong drive flanges

Need to confirm that! The conversion that Tony shows above uses Fiesta discs rather than the usual MKIII Escort front. The drive flanges fit under these without machining.
