WestfieldWill Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) I've been toying with the idea of turboing my 2.0 zetec or another engine swap however it seems it will probably be more cost effective for me to to sell or swap the car. It's a factory built sport carbon with 2.0 zetec on throttle bodies circa 190bhp. I'm looking for something with more power and more track focused (although mine is no slouch). The spec is in photos taken from the advert when I bought the car, everything remains the same other than ongoing maintenance, oils changes etc I'd put the value at approx £15,500 If anyone's interested get it touch Cheers Will Edited January 20, 2022 by Kingster Mark as sold
Simon Waterfall Syman84 Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Very clean car saw this at croft earlier in the year. Obviously wants an upgrade when he saw how fast the trackday crew were peddling. Good luck with the sale
WestfieldWill Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 Cheers Simon, it almost feels too nice to track to be honest, croft might have played a small part in the decision 🤷♂️🤣 There is a rotary turbo westfield on racecars direct I'm potentially interested in, does anyone know the car ?

Kingster Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Rotary engines are notoriously prone to premature wear and exceedingly thirsty from what I’ve read…

Its a funny thing, with many of the typical, traditional engines we use in these cars. Most of the Ford power plants aren’t actual off the shelf performance items, we tune them in and too, the cars. Where as the speciality Japanese sports car engines, like the Mazda rotaries and the S2000 are all ready high performance engines in their original fitments. With performance tuned exhausts etc matched to the engines. When we then come to fit them to the physically much smaller Westfield, we can’t fit something that matches the OEM system that closely, there’s just not room. And in shortening and simplifying the exhausts, (and sometimes intake systems). Something has to give, sometimes it’s a bit of power, sometimes it’s noise levels, sometimes it’s a bit of both. The rotaries by their nature, seem to suffer from noise, fitting them in Westfields just exaggerates it and makes it harder to solve. Ironically, making them a trickier proposition for trackdays etc, with stricter noise limits than full on race days.
