Thank you Regards Richard
stephenh
Hi Richard, I can't really answer your direct question, but it will help others who can to know which front hubs you have. Are they the old Ford Sierra ones, or are they the later Westfield alloy hubs? If you aren't sure, the alloy hubs have detachable steering arms, mounted to the hub with 2 (or is it 3?) small studs and nuts, or it might be setscrews. As for the trackrod end dust cover, I should think that is a standard Ford item as the steering rack is a copy of the Ford Escort rack. CosKev
You can buy new boots for Ball joints, not sure these are the exact ones you need you will need to check the sizes👍 If you don't want to mess about with boots you can get a complete new joint for not much. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-TRANSIT-Bus-Rubber-Track-Rod-and-Ball-Joint-Boots-Dust-Covers-x2-FREE-Clips-/254770424282?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-
Arm
Bottom joint may well tighten up and be ok. New boot or joint for top as mentioned. Id also look for a new mot man . Strictly he is correct but .........
snowy892
Thank you everyone for your replies, I spoke with Andrew from Toybox who sent me over the parts I needed, now fitted and hopefully retest tomorrow. The MOT tester was lenient with the emissions and lights!!
Somerset Jim
I was going to agree with Arm as I'd have thought dust cover was an advisory - BUT dust covers easier to fix than emissions 😀
