Hi Charlie,

Welcome to the club. Toybox cars are always special, but be warned, the affliction called upgrade-itis can strike at any time. This is usually caused by talking to other members about the mods they have done, or the Demon Tweeks catalogue dropping through the letter box, or a number of other causes. Beware, it can be expensive, a set of track day wheels and tyres, one dry set, one wet set, etc, etc.

We all love talking about our cars, why not give us a run down of your spec, engine, gearbox etc. Pics too. My own car is undergoing a refurb, a V8, looking at getting it on the road before Easter. Fingers crossed.

John.

Hi Charlie

Welcome to the club. It’s probably the best investment you can make when owning a Westfield.

There are some incredibly knowledgeable people in the club and I wouldn’t have been able to build my Westfield last year without the amazing advice on this forum.

If you haven’t owned one of these cars before then like me then here’s some things I have learnt over the last year.

1. You are significantly less visible to other drivers for some reason so remember to double check each time when coming out of junctions

2. It’s a kit car and sometimes they like to be difficult. Even the best prepared cars can be grumpy some days. But solving those problems is when the forum comes in very handy.

3. Every modified Focus or Astra will want to race you. Ignore them you have to much class.

4. Every garage or stop off point there will be someone showing interest and asking questions. They will always ask “is that a Caterham”. 😂 Get used to it.

Thanks for such a warm welcome everyone, great to see how much of a community feel there is on the forums.

Quick rundown of the car, it's got a 2l Blacktop Zetec with OMEX ECU and throttle bodies on an MT75 gearbox, with Team Dynamics wheels.  Part of the attraction to this model was that it's pretty close to what I was looking for, so while there's currently no immediate plans for changing anything on it, I'm sure that upgrade-itis isn't too far away.  I took delivery of it just before heading back to see family for Christmas so currently don't have any other photos, but will make sure to head out in the new year to get some proper glamour shots of it

I'll be looking to take part on some track days, but having never been on one before it's a slightly daunting prospect, are there some which are more newbie friendly, or will other members be happy to give some advice and show the ropes to a beginner?  Sadly I'm not around for the January or February Thames Valley meets, but have put March in the calendar so look forward to seeing you there Steve!

Welcome from South Derbyshire, lovely looking car 👍

I live only 2 miles from Toybox, so of course I have one of their cars 😂
