Paul Aspden (MoFast)
@Zetechno welcome, whilst this lot have a debate over who’s the oldest and most fertile I’ll ask you some questions about the car. What engine size have you got What things do you think need sorting out on the car? Where are you based? Do you plan to track day the car? The carbs needed stripping cleaning and rebuilding as it hadn't been started for a few years, but thats done now. I've replaced the windscreen as it was cracked, I debated putting an aero screen on but the stone that cracked the screen was perfect passenger face shot, so that was the perfect selling point for me! 🤣 The guy I purchased it from inherited it from his uncle but had no interest in it. It was built / completed in 1997. It was registered and motd the same year and was never used on the road again. It was built to race in some events and hill climbs but it certainly hasn't had a hard life, or was extremely well looked after. Well, this is what I was told from the owner and the paperwork I received seems to back it up. Yes I certainly plan on doing some track days in it as well as putting back on the road 👍 I'm from kettering, northamptonshire👍
Paul Aspden (MoFast)
@Zetechno well you couldn’t be in a better location for finding people who know how to work on Motorsport’s type cars. If you have plans to switch to throttle body’s then your on the door set of Northampton Motorsport which are awesome at setting these things up. I have a spare windscreen but I think it’s for a wide body car. Always a good idea to keep the carbs well serviced especially when the car has been sat for a while. You might want to give the fuel lines a good check over and replace where necessary.

Yes I'd definitely like to go the route of throttle bodies but on an st170 engine, as my friend runs that set up in his ford anglia and its amazing! I'm a plant fitter and fabricator by trade so I managed to get a new screen made by a friend of mine the does plant/digger glazing, but thank you 👍 You are correct on the fuel lines, they looked OK from the out side but after finding bits of rubber in the float bowls I realised they had broken down internally
