Hi Wills - I have checked this out - but unable to get an absolute confirmation, all very conflicting from Yes no problem to No need special adjustments.

So to play safe think you need to be on the side of caution, and assume it will not fit unless you can find some supportive information to confirm that it will fit

Cheers

The hood/frame will work with an RAC bar, however, there are caveats.

1. The hood and frame have changed steadily over the years, so a mid nineties hood and frame have subtly different dimensions to a 2000's example. this doesn't affect cars with cosmetic roll bars so much, but does affect cars with RAC bars, as there is very little tolerance for poor fit. So try and get a hood/frame that matches the car, if it's a ZK body, go for one from 2000 onwards, if it's early Kit Style, go for a 90's set up. (roughly)

2. Over the years, the location of the hood mounting brackets has varied a lot. From being welded on to the chassis, to being welded on to the feet of the roll bar, to being a completely separate bolt on arrangement.  Again, this can affect fit.

3. The standard hood frame will not clear the RAC bar, so, the factory used to supply an RAC bar adaptor kit, this allowed the hood frame to lift over the RAC bar, before dropping down into it's correct height/position. These haven't been available to buy new, for years. However, what many owners have done, is to cut the rear loop off the frame, and cut the top of the middle loop short, this lets the forward loop clear the roll bar, and then uses the RAC bar itself as the middle hoop. I know one or two that have done it this way, that then have the hood modified where the rear hoop would have supported it, but it's not vital, most don't!

Thanks Dave for your explanation my car is a 2008 but I suppose the amount of times that I would actually use it as I have a half hood anyway  !

A lot of money to put out if there is a chance it will not fit !

Thanks William
