hi,

i was sent some old photos recently one of which has me confused, i had seen this pic before many many years ago , however the car i thought it was , isn't.

having done some research on the web, i am still at a loss, i think i know what it is but the steering wheel design does not match any images i can find online of the same model car, any knowledgeable folks out there know what this car actually is please.

date of photo would be 1967 ish.

the child is me by the way...

Vauxhall Victor, possibly FB. Griffin badge on the steering wheel. My dad had one when I would have been a similar age.

thankyou, that sounds feasable as one of my grandads was into his vauxhall products, i need to do some work now to pin which model it is. i had thought that logo looked very similar in shape to the castle logo of vw, that would have been the beetle but the above car appears to have a raised instument binicle which the v dub never had.

I was going to say Vauxhall Victor too, but this is the one that sprang to mind when looking at the wheel

oh wow, thats it... thankyou so much, i did look at cresta's this afternoon but all i saw were the wrap around windscreen model, so i discounted anything to do with the cresta..

mystery solved.

sadly there is no one left alive who would have known, although oddly i regcogise the house in the photo.

the car was my grandfathers, he must have visited one day and the photo shot.

Good problem solve . I was also going to suggest victor as I was similar age at that time and my dad had a victor estate with the column change. I steered that car for miles sat on his knee.
