Chris M Williams Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 2003 Westfield SE kit registered 2005 very low mileage 3,741 and stored in garage and never tracked, 5 months MOT. 2.0l Pinto engine with twin 40’s Weber carbs, high torque cam, enlarged inlets and bronze guides (less than 2,000 miles) and oil catch tank fitted. It has lighter weight starter motor and lightweight upgraded alternator and fittings. No rolling road test but goes very well and sure could be improved with a bit of professional tuning. Noise is not for the faint hearted though (sounds great) but you could upgrade exhaust for a quieter one if you really wanted, but why? 5 speed type 9 gearbox. Rear shocks have been replaced (all adjustable) and it has vented discs and 4 pot brakes on the front and upgraded servo. RAC roll bar, half hood, side wind defectors and boot tonneau. Car comes with original roll bar and full wet hood and doors to match, doors can be used with half hood by removing wind deflectors. Doors are blue and half hood is black. Half hood retention system is secured on roll bar and is homemade bespoke but works well and is hidden until needed under the tonneau. The bonnet has a strengthening bespoke bracket underneath the front of it. It has been like this since I brought it back in 2011 and is sound. The bonnet a very small top surface hairline crack above this bracket which has been there again since I had it and hasn’t got any worse and looks fine. Supplied with some carb bits and bobs, build book, receipts, Sierra and Escort Haynes manuals. Great looking and fun car now or further development project.
