timd
Two pack, epoxy paint gets my recommendation. Mines been down 18months and hasnt lifted AT ALL... The stuff I've got is called Penguard Jotun, I got it from Lawsons Paint and Racking in Southampton. Seconded. Top stuff . And it doesn't need any of that p******** about prepping the floor or sealing it. Just sweep it out and run a hoover over it, then paint away! Mark Stanton
And if you lay a self levelling screed material you still gotta ensure the base concrete is throughly cleaned of all contaminates - road salts, crud and oils. Failure to clean causes the "topping" to curl from the base concrete, at least. Fosroc and Sika do various materials for such an undertaking All to be installed fully in accordance with the specialist manufacturers current technical specification and data That'll be 100 guineas please Oh and PeePots right about vinyl flooring - mildewy and naff
hilux
Ooim a builder see....... Any paint is only as good as the surface its adheres to. Therefore a friable surface will not offer a key ie concrete. Simple really, go to your local builders merchants and buy a tin of concrete floor surface hardner/sealer. This seals/solidifies the top surface so that you can paint easily. Then go and buy an industrial quality floor paint, easily applied, easily cleaned, easily recoated.
