Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted October 1, 2021 Posted October 1, 2021 There has been a lot of talk about the change to E10 fuel but not much written that is very helpful. Having run Methanol in the race car for 5 years, its a great fuel but not withoit its problems. Which in the main are that it junks up the fuel lines, injectors etc unless they are specifically designed for it. Also it corrodes whatever it gets in contact with, watch out aluminium fuel tank!!! Then of course being 100% methanol you have to pre heat the engine otherwise it just won't start. So knowing and experiencing this I found this article much better than the usual rubbish printed. E10 Fuel Hagerty Ignore some of the Political bits and just take the tech stuff. Quote
Jim RS Posted October 1, 2021 Posted October 1, 2021 Good article but very anti-politically biased. So much of our fuel usage is dictated by the large automotive forces putting pressure on governments, all done so that they can sell new vehicles, shown up in the historical push towards deisel propulsion. How long before it is suddenly realised that emf power is another marketing tool with no benifits to our draining of Earths resources. Quote

This is a thread about E10 and it's effects Quote
