zvezdochka Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 When I went for SVA at Manchester the examiner insisted on being able to read markings on all flexible fuel pipes to confirm it was rated for fuel use. Mine was Ok but the guy ahead of me failed as he had used unmarked pipe. I think it was clear pipe with reinforcing mesh. Rick Quote
adam123 Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Done a search, here looks like I've got another problem the rigid copper pipe is 5/16. If I read the Think Automotive website correctly -6 JIC is for 3/8 tube is this correct? What's a 1/16 of an inch between friends eh? ian just finished mine today i have 5/16 copper pipe and needed to get to -6jic rang loads of places and gould not get nothing to fit, in the end i went to a company called pirtek they sell hydrolic(sp) fittings etc and they made an adapter to go from 5/16 to -jic had four of these and payed £10 cash adam Quote
Bazzer Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Think do a load of adaptors as well, but Pirtek will probably be cheaper. Adam did you flare the ends of the coper pipe or did you use flareless fittings ? Quote

CedricTheBrave Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 I used the WF supplied pipe for the the supply(steel) and 8mm copper for the return (from B&Q) I soldered a compression fitting olive on the end of the copper pipe to allow a better grip for the rubber pipe. I Used proper fuel hose clips in the engine bay with correctly marked high pressure fuel hose. I also covers the hose in plastic shielding. I used jubilee clips in the boot area for the pump/swirl pot etc. It passed SVA no problem on these things at the Croydon centre. The examiner didn't remove the covering to check the fuel pipe but I think he clocked all the correct clips. the compression fitting olives are avaialble from any plumbers and (b&q) they are for microbore central heating pipe (8mm) Quote
