Ian Podmore
Most worryingly, I was actually asked to park one of those horrid 4x4 things at Meadowhall shopping centre a few months back! The woman driver had managed to drive into the space forwards with the diaganolly opposite corners nearly touching the BOTH cars next to her. I simply got in, said hello to the passenger and kids in teh back, reversed back out of the space and drove forwards into the space straight. And the response from this helpless woman? "Why didn't I do that?" Well quite. She had only passed her test a couple of weeks before and she was driving around in a that tank (Ford Explorer)! studbuckle
Having just come back from meadowhell at lunch, it seems to be the sort of place that attracts people who can't park. My collegue drove around for 3 minutes looking for a space (dont ask) and we saw at least 4 examples of diagonal bay parking like that.... furtive
Local council car park charges you £40 if you don't park within the boxes. Sounds like a good idea, but if you get one person parking badly, all the other cars in that row have to park outside the box and so are all liable to a fine, which the council is only too happy to charge.
