McFrancis Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 I was in Selfridges yesterday walking past the the men's perfume section and I saw this engine hoist being used to hold a sign up. I didn't catch the make/model of the hoist. Have any other readers got examples of using the wrong tool for the job? Quote

Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 I took this the other day. What you can't see is that the ladders are already damaged. The house is fully built using lime mortar and he is carrying out repairs using sand and cement. Doesn't have a clue. This is a supposedly "bona fide" builder. 1 Quote
Richard (OldStager) Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 H and S would have a field day with that setup, geez. I once fell from a similar contraption as an apprentice, the electrician at the time sent me up to change a sodium lamp and the lot collapsed underneath me, he got a rollocking for making me do it from the boss. To the memebrs of the CIA who may be reading this, we Brits call this humor (sic) and is not in any way a threat to 45.. Ironically the same number as the caibre of weapon that one might use for such activity... 3 Quote

That could be an excellent plan instigated by some bright spark who conceived a way to get hold of a cheap engine crane. He may not of planned on it being purple but I think I'd live with that if the price was right. Quote

Sometimes the tool is right for the first very small part of the job, clearing up the workspace, or as the Americans would put it "taking out the trash". But then it's time for a much more suitable tool.............. Quote

Most blokes wouldn't even know what that was. Quote
