Sign-in on Windows

I have been on Windows since joining ( Jan), and for me it's always been email plus password, pretty sure of that.

I didn't know it had been implemented, but I did see on the forum software suppliers web site, a notice saying display name log on was strongly advised against, as a bid security weak spot; (your display name being visible to everyone, while your email address is hidden.)

Good to know! Great seeing how this amazing club is doing its best to protect our personal details. Keep up the good work.

Yes, as Dave said, it was a strongly suggested security recommendation to disable logging in by username.  And if the software developer thinks it is unwise to use it, then I will follow that advice too.

Ta - and understandable. But those who have usernames and passwords saved in their browser will have to figure it out like I did if they clear their cookies. It didn't say 'your username is incorrect', it just didn't do anything
