Stuart
@Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster just wondered if you are aware that members can no longer sign in using their username; has to be email address. Just caused me consternation for a couple of minutes....
Richard (OldStager)
I have been on Windows since joining ( Jan), and for me it's always been email plus password, pretty sure of that.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
I didn't know it had been implemented, but I did see on the forum software suppliers web site, a notice saying display name log on was strongly advised against, as a bid security weak spot; (your display name being visible to everyone, while your email address is hidden.) Quinten
Yes, as Dave said, it was a strongly suggested security recommendation to disable logging in by username. And if the software developer thinks it is unwise to use it, then I will follow that advice too.
Stuart
Ta - and understandable. But those who have usernames and passwords saved in their browser will have to figure it out like I did if they clear their cookies. It didn't say 'your username is incorrect', it just didn't do anything
