Stu Faulkner
I am struggling to playback my gopro footage and I think its because its 4K I believe Windows 10 and the associated player won't play so I need to download some software to playback and change the format into a lower resolution Help anyone? Blatman
VLC is my go-to for all things audio-visual. There are Android and iOS versions too. 3

Richard (OldStager)
There are loads of free video format changing software's out there, except most of them come with loads of bloatware that you can not choose to not load. I tend to uninstall those once I am done with a conversion. But VLC here also, although never worked with 4K files with it.

Is it Quicktime or iMovie or something? I ask as there may be a version or an equivalent for Windows that could be useful.
jonjh1964
After problem getting the GoPro software to recognise the GPS data I first found a free tool to extract the data and then used free garmin software to produce video with gauge overlays. I'm currently using racerender which so far not had any problems reading the gps data and producing gauge overlays without any faff. It's a free download and after a couple of uses I paid a fee (AFAIR ~£30) to open up greater functionally and longer video lengths.
Rhett Turner - Black Country AO
I've used HandBrake for video conversion on the PC, I've used it and MakeMKV to convert DVDs to MP4s I can then watch on a tablet or stream within the home. I also use Pinnicale studio for video editing on the PC and iMovie on my macbook.
Blatman
I tried Handbrake when I dabbled with Linux a few years back and I couldn't get on with it. I think I need to look again. I think VLC can convert DVD's to MP4's although it might be that the DVD has to be converted to an IOS first. Can't remember right now 'cos it's been a while...
