After a brief return last year (after setting my loom on fire) I'm back again to try and get an 18 year old build that has been laying stagnant in my garage over the line.

Pretty sure it's close to finished ( with a million snags ), but lack of mechanical ability/know-how (and some bad build decision) is making the last hurdle difficult..

Any opinions/advice/encouragement is appreciated!

What issues are you having?

Posted

In no particular order..

Tuning for emissions/IVA.

Headlight alignment and front.

Wheel alignment etc.

Rough idle at the mo (causing a knocking down the propshaft which is probably a loose mount/flange)

Windscreen wipers are crap

Tidying of wiring/cooling for IVA

Some sort of oil breather/catch tank etc...

I seem to be missing a main fuse from my battery.

Some sort of air filter solution for my throttle bodies..

Finishing/fixing trim/bodywork

So, not a huge amount of "real" issue apart from sorting the tuning and getting it running more smoothly.

Expect questions in "Tech Talk", but I'm probably overthinking things rather than just getting on with it!

I would certainly post most of that in tech talk.

Have you balanced your throttle bodies? It’s a good place to start with rough idle.

Emissions - I never had mine tested before IVA but I know a local garage that will check it.

headlight aim my tester tweaked for me on IVA.

Wheel alignment I would just get as close as possible in the garage and get it booked in at Blink motorsport for a professional setup.

Happy to pop round and cast an eye over or help out with anything.

Thanks Si, Just knowing if it's in the IVA ballpark will be useful.

I have four weeks off work in August and plan on tackling as much as possible then. In the meantime I'll come up with a plan and I'll give you a shout if I need an extra pair of hands or a second opinion.

Cheers !
