It might be a little bit on the heavy side 😆

This isn't really the place for it, but I'm curious to see what you're planning to do with your chassis to fit a V8 and gearbox in a, what I assume, standard wide body?

i bet there would not be that much in it given you wouldnt be using two whole cvh's, wiki has some figures. the motorbike guy on yt alan millyard i think his name is, has done lots of 4 cyl to v8 conversions by using 2, 4 cyl's, clever bloke.

cool, but my comment was just a reply to your heavy bit, as i dont think it would have been over what you have there, but good luck with it all, you may wish to start a build thread on the conversion.

Yes my chassis is a standard wide body?

I think I may still have a pair of new engine mounts. I'll have a look over the weekend but I might have thrown them away...

what Quinten means is that Westfield make/made a number of different chassis for different engine/gearbox combinations.

The SEiGHT chassis has a special wider transmission tunnel area for the bigger V8 gearboxes to fit. It also had more reinforcement around the diff area to cope with the increased torque than standard chassis had, when it was first launched, though more modern chassis gained more reinforcement in that area too, over the gears, as power levels increased.

What age chassis/car is it? Do you know which version you have, a Type 9 chassis, or an MT75 chassis? (Which you have will dictate how much of the tunnel area needs cutting out and re-fabricating.)

- Fun fact, when Westfield launched the SEiGHT it had so much more torque than any of the four cylinder options at the time, the factory was absolutely terrified of the potential liability issues with it, from a badly built version.

So Kit’s we’re only supplied with rolling chassis, and the factory made the insurers aware of SEiGHT chassis numbers, to ensure that a converted stock chassis couldn’t be insured!

That changed over the years, as four cylinder power plants got ever more powerful. But even at the end, I seem to remember the SEiGHT chassis still only came fully panelled, with all the fuel/brake lines fitted.

Seight chassis was made from a different gauge steel

The most significant (unseen) difference. Of course, you can do what you want but I'd be very careful about the insurance implications.

My car is a 1993 with a type 9 gearbox
