Master cylinder 60/40 split.

Hi all.

I'm toying with the idea of changing my 50/50 split M/C for a 60/40 split version. If you have one gathering dust which has the two mounting holes vertically instead of horizontally then I may be interested, assuming it's that simple to swap them over.

Thanks,

Gary.

Rears are locking up way before the fronts. Was thinking that the 50/50 split is not helping. My thoughts are that a 60 front to 40 rear would stop this from happening, but I'm happy to stand corrected.

Easiest option is bias valve as you have an imbalance front to rear.
What brakes do you have at front and rear?

Cortina M16 fronts and Sierra XR 4x4 calipers rear. I haven't IVA'd yet, so any bias valve would need to be  non adjustable.

I'm going to visit my local scrap yard this weekend and see if there are any MX5 proportioning valves there (or get one off ebay). I believe they would work, but I was thinking that an M/C swap might be easier as I don't have the brake pipe flaring tools necessary to fit a bias valve, but this might change if needs must.
