Martin251184 Posted June 5, 2021 Share Posted June 5, 2021 It is with a heavy heart that i am soon to be putting my Westfield up for sale having only just getting it back from a friend who has done a mini restoration on it for me. Being a turbocharged car i guess it appeals to less people than your normal throttle bodied NA examples as you never see people post in the wanted section for a turbo powered car. 😃 This is where my question comes in, where would be the best place to advertise it? I have considered track car pages on facebook but know full well i will get a tonne of dreamers wanting to pay 50p for it. I know you run that risk advertising anywhere but i was wondering what experiences people have had advertising in different places? Depending on response, and any constructive feedback, can expand elsewhere. Forum adverts still get picked up by browser searches attracting non member serious buyers to the forum. Onliest Smeg David Posted June 5, 2021 Share Posted June 5, 2021 Judging value is difficult- especially if very track focused. Standardish Road based are selling fairly easily. I sold mine too cheaply on here, but at least it was a hassle free sale. My prior experience of selling elsewhere have hated it. Some appear to be over valuing trying to cash in on strong market. Value really i have no idea, it has a full cage but is also carpeted and comes with both windscreen and aero plus wet weather gear. Fully forged 2.0 blacktop running 260bhp, engine has only done circa 1500 miles. I think its one of those cars where i may need to hold out for that one person who is specifically after this sort of car. I think forced induction puts a few people off in terms of reliability and how it drives, however i can confirm this one has been far more reliable than my previous throttle bodied silvertop zetec car! 😃 I am also not ashamed to admit it does well over 30mpg driven steadily ha ha ha!! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would more likely go na but wouldn't dismiss a turboed Westfield, it's about how it drives. I'm in the market for a full roadgoing, with weather gear. We see it all the time, fantastic photos that would be brilliant in Westfield World, but that are utterly useless to evaluate a car from in an advert. By all means include artistic shots, they look great and flatter the car. But make sure you have plenty of shots that show the details of the car too, so square on shots of sides, good clear shots around suspension areas, if there are upgrades here, or to brakes, good clear shots of the engine bay. (It utterly staggers me how many people try to sell specialist enthusiast targeted sports cars that are commonly home built and tinkered with, that never show them with the bonnet off/open! Even more so, when it’s something interesting or out of the ordinary. In the real world, Westfield prices have gone up a lot, and there’s not much out there for sale at the moment. The intention is to get him to do some artistic ones backed up by the thorough detailed ones taken by myself. Will check out the for sale section for some inspiration. Sold my Westfield last week, Put it on here for a week or so which attracted one pleasant chap to come and take a look and that was it, so after a week I put it on ebay as a classified ad, something like £20 to list. Its comical with the people using you as Google with single questions without any kind of hello interested in your car blah blah...just "What does it sound like?" "Whats a half hood?" So I put as much time and effort into my replies as they did into the questions. It sold within another week or so.
