Tony Bee Posted May 25, 2021 Share Posted May 25, 2021 I see this has been debated quite a few times but they are quite old posts - ive a brand new garage and the builder has b*****red up the new concrete slab to the extent its not exactly even and its a bit rough - its 60m2! Option 1 was levelling compound and paint but i really dont think any type of levelling compound will put up with the abuse of garage life for years and years So im looking at going down the rubber/pvc matting option - has anyone else done this and has experience of what they are like after a few years - if so where did you get them from (also some are 7mm and some are 12mm etc) One key point - I dont want them to move so they will need to be interlocking (rules out stable mats) and ill be getting the ramps where needed to ?? Axle stands mark them slightly but when you remove them the marks fade after a day or so. much nicer/warmer to work on than concrete. More forgiving if you drop things onto it too. fitted in 2005- Ready for the Westie build in 2015 Easy to cut when you leave them in sunlight with a stanley knife. Jim RS Posted May 25, 2021 Share Posted May 25, 2021 You can get structural self levelling in either cement based or epoxy type. I have levelled up loads of concrete floors and personally rate the cement based materials as they work with the concrete and will last as long as the concrete itself as long as the surface is prepared properly. If you speak to Dichem near Bracknell they will advise on product and application.
