you could not get a subject further from cars i dont think but

i was watching some science docs last night and one of them stuck me as something i can do to help.

donating your body to train medical students or use for other educational purposes. i have followed science all my life, and would like to help teach it in my death.

would anyone consider doing this, if not why not.

i have requested the necessary forms to fill in already.

i didnt think anyone would comment to be honest, but watching the docu last night , i thought why not do this - as steve says its no use at all to anyone , and before it gets burnt , why not let someone learn something first - and then burn me.its not like you are going to feel or see anything...

admittedly, it does prolong any funeral arrangements, but i still think its worth doing.

true, but its more about how it works, science still has no real idea , so the more they can look at hopefully something may be learnt, also it gives promising would be surgeons something to practice on as it were, i dont think its possible to buy a book on how to become one - i may be wrong 😄...

Can you offer to leave Piers Morgan’s body to science now, or do you have to kill him first?  Asking for a friend.

that programme was mentioned in some of the docs i saw the other day.

the guy who did that came so close to being arrested, there were police called , it seems all he wanted to do was create a specticle, not much was learnt from it at all - other than he was an idiot.

My view with things like this, is once you're dead, you're gone, what happens to you, from your own perspective doesn't really matter.

But that doesn't mean that what happens next isn't important. It can be, very much so. The whole process from funerals to what happens to the remains, isn't really about you anymore, it's about those you leave behind; it's a critical part of the process of allowing them to grieve and move past it.

So whatever you choose may help or hinder your loved ones in the future. I do believe it's so important to consider how choices will affect them to, and to make sure they're "on board" with any less regular alternatives, you have in mind. Sometimes a compromise may be needed.

Its one one of those areas that often doesn't get talked about enough in families, till it's too late!
