I worked in a small Skoda dealer during my apprenticeship back in the 80’s and although they got a lot of ridicule their rally pedigree certainly proved what they could do. We had an old coupe in the showroom which had been converted into a pick up, which I always said we should bet back on the road, but sadly never came to happen, I’m sure our Skoda rep bought it and it’s probably worth a bit of money now if it’s still in existence. The garage closed down in the late 80’s recession giving me 3 hours notice that I was out of a job.

I used to watch Tony Sugden race the Skoda in special saloons , my mate had the road going version !

I wonder how this would stack up against the Lotus 11 of the day both 1100 cc

Love it, but had the shock of my life when I Googled the orange racer; the photo above really gives little idea of scale, (It's so well in proportion, and I suppose we're used to seeing huge diameter wheels.) It's tiny when you see pictures with a driver sat on it! (Not sure many would be able to actually sit in it!!)

It's a great looking car. I saw it at Caffeine and the Machine they had it on display the day they opened for the first time 27.10.2018.
