Nick A Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 Nothing to do with me and have seen posts advising against this but someone may be interested in this
Leon B Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 What sort of weight do you think that would be? Looks like a good bit of engineering.
Bananaman Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Question really should be will it be ridgid/strong enough. Have there beed any engineering calc's done Andy
jeff oakley Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 this looks like the alloy chassis which was made for formula 27 as shown at Stafford? it was well engineered , however some months later I spoke with the guy who had made it, they were from Westbury in Wiltshire, he told me that it was a design exercise and would be okay for traack work but would not for the road as the alloy can work harden and crack. It was also not much lighter than a standard chassis as the wall size and tube diameter were both larger although the roof it is on doesn't look too stronge.
