I still remember seeing and hearing the BRM P15 in the flesh for the first time at the 2005 FOS, what an amazing noise

The only car I remember racing at Silverstone in the 50’s when I was young.  Even the locals in the village would recognise the noise and say “ ah, that’s the BRM going round circuit” .  Step forward 45 years and one of them turned up at car show in Basildon organised by local Clergy, Canon Lionel Webber. Roads were closed off on a bank holiday and a good deal of historic sports & race cars ragged it around the town centre. Of course the most notable noise I recognised was the BRM V16 with its haunting supercharger, a bit of aural shock for the locals.

I remember being at Oulton Park many years ago, when Jackie Stewart did a demonstration run in this car. The noise was tremendous.
